An earthquake measuring 5.7 in magnitude struck off the coast of New Zealand early Saturday morning.
The tremors struck at 05:08 local time.
The epicentre was in Cook Strait at a depth of 33 km, 25 km west of Wellington.
The tremors were felt as far south as Christchurch and as far north as Auckland.
