Large amounts of hail hit parts of Hoxie, Kansas on Friday, bringing traffic to a standstill, as the storm sparked possible tornadoes and meteorologists urged residents to stay indoors.

A senior meteorologist at AccuWeather previously said the predicted hail was considered gorilla hail because its potential was so large.

Meanwhile, traffic was stopped and closed due to falling hail, the National Weather Service said in X.
