Australia in devastation! Super cyclone Zelia wreaks havoc in western australia

Property was damaged and trees were uprooted as a tropical cyclone continues to wreak havoc across Western Australia, with record rainfall triggering major flooding that saw residents evacuated by helicopter. Tropical Cyclone Zelia made landfall in north-west Western Australia on Friday and rapidly weakened as it crossed the east coast of Port Hedland.

Surrounding areas suffered property damage as winds of up to 120km/h struck, but the strongest part of the system – which was a category four when it made landfall – hit remote areas, according to Angus Hines, a senior meteorologist with the Bureau of Meteorology.
