Early Thursday morning, a magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck near the border of Germany, Switzerland and France.
The tremors occurred at 03:06 local time.
The epicenter was at a depth of 7 km, 27 km from Basel and 34 km from Freiburg.
The tremors were felt at a distance of up to 100 km from the epicenter.
Later, several aftershocks were recorded.
On social networks, eyewitnesses share footage of the natural disaster.
Furniture shook in the houses and objects fell from shelves.
There were no reports of injuries or damage.
It was the strongest earthquake to hit the area since 2018.
