Now Argentina is under water! Capital sinks, floods in Buenos Aires, residents shocked

The Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) was hit by continuous heavy rains throughout the day and night, causing flooding in cities in the north, south and west of the metropolitan area, especially affecting the districts of Záratem La Matanza, Ituzaingó, Avellaneda, Exaltación de la Cruz, Tigre, Lanús and Merlo. There were also overflowing rivers causing traffic jams on Route 8 and the Pan-American Highway.

In Zárate, flooding covered entire roads, knocked down power lines, cut off access to Routes 6 and 9 and submerged a 4-meter-high overpass. Images showed stranded trucks and residents wading through neck-deep water, as the Civil Defense raised the alert to "red."
