A strong storm hit Baixada Fluminense on Wednesday afternoon (January 29), causing flash flooding in several cities in the region. Heavy to moderate rain has been affecting several neighborhoods in the capital of Rio, Baixada Fluminense and the Metropolitan Region since Wednesday afternoon.

In Nova Iguaçu, several streets are flooded due to the heavy rain. TThe storm also impacted public transportation. MetrôRio temporarily closed the Pavuna, Engenheiro Rubens Paiva, Acari/Fazenda Botafogo, Coelho Neto and Colégio stations, all on Line 2.
