Brazil now! Unstoppable water washes away cars, flash floods in Jaragua do sul

Heavy rain caused damage in Jaraguá do Sul, north of Santa Catarina, in the afternoon of Sunday. Public transportation was temporarily suspended in the neighborhood.

Flooding is concentrated in the areas crossed by the Pedra Branca river, mainly affecting the neighborhoods of Barra do Rio Cerro, Barra do Rio Molha, Jaraguá Esquerdo, São Luis and Rio Molha.

Previously, Civil Defense had warned of impending severe weather across the state and that storms would be common in the summer, due to a combination of heat and humidity.
