Khon Kaen was inundated with heavy rain for several hours, leaving floodwaters stagnant and waiting to be drained. In some areas, water levels reached 30-50 centimeters, making it impassable for small cars and motorcycles. At 3:00 PM on September 22, 2025, heavy rain continued from noon until the afternoon for over three hours.

This flooding affected many areas in Khon Kaen, particularly on the Khon Kaen-Kalasin bypass road near the Ban Non Tun traffic light intersection in Muang Kao Subdistrict, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province. Water levels reached approximately 30 centimeters, making it impassable for small cars and motorcycles, resulting in a traffic jam stretching over three kilometers.
