The city of Corrientes, the capital of the Argentine province, was left under water Sunday as 300 millimeters of heavy rains caused floods and material damage, while vehicles were swept away by the current.

According to local media, the Governor of Corrientes province, Gustavo Valdes, declared a state of emergency in the province.

At 5 in the morning the rain gauge of the Correntino Institute of Water and the Environment registered an intensity of 190 mm per hour, while the Capital only supports 50 mm, leaving all the neighborhoods flooded.
