South Africa is battered! Horrible event, flash floods in Margate, KwaZulu-Natal

Torrential rain caused flash flooding in parts of the KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. A heavy downpour late on Sunday, April 14 hit South Coasters by surprise, to some extent.

Heavy rainfall on Sunday and Monday forced several rivers to break their banks, destroying infrastructure, causing electricity outages and flooding homes in Margate and Port Shepstone.

Videos have circulated on social media, especially of water gushing down from Marine Drive towards the beach, damaging paving. Margate was one of the towns to be hit by the downpour.
