Now Japan is in Danger! Typhoon Shanshan's wrath brings disaster, Residents evacuated

Typhoon Shanshan has struck southwestern Japan. The typhoon, packing winds of up to 252 kilometers (157 miles) per hour and heavy rain, made landfall near the city of Satsumasendai on Kyushu island at around 8 a.m. on Thursday

Authorities warned the storm could be one of the strongest ever to hit the region. Local governments have also issued evacuation orders for millions of residents in several prefectures. Footage from public broadcaster NHK showed walls ripped off and windows shattered in buildings in Miyazaki city in southern Kyushu, with objects strewn across streets or hanging from utility poles.
