Typhoon Faxai made landfall in Kochi Prefecture around 1:00 AM on the 5th. The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued forecasts of a linear rain band for 16 prefectures, including the Kanto, Koshin, and Tokai regions. Typhoon No. 15 has been bringing heavy rain to various areas even before it approaches due to the influence of moist air. Heavy rain has begun to fall in Shizuoka as well.

National Highway 1 in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture has been closed to traffic in both directions near Nekoda in Yahagi Town since 1:05 PM on September 5th due to flooding. Meanwhile, a heavy rain and flood warning has been issued for Chiryu City, Aichi Prefecture, where heavy rain is causing water to overflow from road gutters and flooding of roads.
