Floods began to hit Johor after incessant rains since March 19 and as of 8am on March 20, three districts, namely Johor Bahru, Kulai and Pontian, recorded more than 890 flood victims who had to be evacuated to temporary evacuation centers (PPS).

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a continuous heavy rain warning in six districts in Johor. A continuous heavy rain warning involves Johor Bahru, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai and Kota Tinggi districts, which is expected to last until March 21.
