Severe flooding has hit China’s Henan Province after two days of heavy rain, affecting cities including Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Kaifeng, and Xinxiang. Zhengzhou recorded 312 millimeters of rainfall in 24 hours, causing rivers such as the Luohe and Yellow River to overflow. More than 25,000 people have been evacuated, and over 15,000 homes and 18,000 hectares of farmland have been inundated. Infrastructure damage includes flooded metro stations, damaged bridges, and power outages in multiple areas. Rescue efforts involve over 3,500 personnel, 280 units of equipment, and assistance from neighboring provinces. Authorities have issued a red flood alert, warning of continued rain and estimating economic losses at more than 1.3 billion yuan.
