Torrential rains have caused severe flooding in Fuyang, Anhui Province, marking one of the worst natural disasters in the region in a decade. Over 300 mm of rainfall in some areas led to rivers overflowing and widespread damage to homes, roads, and farmland. More than 25,000 residents were evacuated, and emergency shelters have been set up to provide food and medical aid. Rescue operations involving over 1,200 personnel and military units are ongoing. Transport and power infrastructure have been heavily disrupted, and one person remains missing. Authorities have declared a state of emergency and are working to assess damage and prevent further risks amid continued rainfall.
