The breach of the Wulan River embankment has triggered major flooding in Karanganyar District, Demak Regency, submerging hundreds of houses and forcing residents to evacuate.

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Demak Regency, Central Java noted that the number of residents of Demak Regency who fled due to flooding reached 8,170 people.

As a result, the flood, which previously hit 15 villages, has now spread to four other villages, such as Karanganyar Village, Undaan Lor Village and Ngemplik Wetan Village.
