Dam overflows in Beijing, China! 4,400 people evacuated, flash floods in Beijing

Heavy rains flushed Beijing and a number of provinces in northern China on Monday, July 28, 2025, triggering flash floods and landslides and forcing the evacuation of more than 4,400 residents. A number of images circulating in the WeChat application show cars and trucks floating on flooded roads. The water level has even reportedly drowned some of the residential buildings.

Fengjiayu Town was the worst affected, with roads, electricity and communications in some villages cut off. According to local authorities, on Sunday, the volume of water flowing into the Miyun Reservoir reached a record high of 6,550 cubic meters per second.
