California, USA is under water! River overflows leaving cars floating in Santa Rosa

Heavy rain in Sonoma County caused several creeks to overflow their banks, flooding streets in Santa Rosa. Officials said the flooding left one person trapped in a car and 150 people sheltered at the Santa Rosa Medical Center and a Hampton Inn as floodwaters cut off access to buildings.

With more than 20 inches of rain in the Sonoma County mountains, forecasters also saw a half-dozen streams and the Russian River approaching flood stage. A flood warning was in effect for Sonoma County through Saturday afternoon.
