Now West Virginia, USA is under water! River overflows, flooding in Logan County

The National Weather Service is forecasting severe weather to continue through Sunday. A flash flood warning was issued this morning and flooding is moving quickly. Across Logan County, heavy flooding has cut off access to several roads and bridges in low-lying areas.

Friday afternoon, below WV 73 in the Mount Gay/Cherry Tree area, the river had completely overtopped the road. Upstream, floodwaters were flowing all the way to the Mud Fork/Verdunville area, where Southern Community & Technical College was completely closed and water was nearly flowing into the community of Baisden Bottom.
