On June 19, the Zhangjiajie Meteorological Observatory issued a red warning for heavy rain. Affected by heavy rainfall, floods above the warning level occurred in the main and tributary rivers of the Lishui River and some tributaries of the Yuanshui River. At present, a total of 178 reservoirs in the province have overflowed.

Since the evening of June 18, Zhangjiajie City, Sangzhi County, has been hit by sudden heavy rain, causing large-scale waterlogging, a large number of vehicles being submerged in floodwaters, and some roads being cut off. As of 8:00 a.m. on June 19, more than 25,000 people had been relocated in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Zhangjiajie, Changde, Huaihua and other places.
