Paris and 42 other French departments are currently on orange alert for severe storms. Trees have been uprooted, streets flooded and hailstones the size of golf balls have been reported in several cities, and a number of storm-related events have occurred.

With hail several centimeters high in the Hautes-Pyrénées, Gers, Haute-Garonne and Tarn-et-Garonne in particular, causing chaos and destruction. In the Landes, Nièvre, and Cher departments, enormous hailstones hit several towns late in the afternoon.
