Chaos hits Poland today! Supercell storm brings huge hail in Dolnośląskie

Strong storms passed over Poland in the evening and at night. Lower Silesia has been hit the hardest so far - in the areas of Bolesławiec, Chojnów, Ścinawa and Wołów, hailstones several centimetres thick fell, damaging cars and destroying gardens and fields.

Locally, very large hailstones with a diameter of up to 4-5 cm fell. In the Legnica area, strong winds knocked down trees. They are accompanied by rainfall of up to 10-30 l/m2 and wind gusts of up to 70-90 km/h. The authorities said that recently formed storm cells are approaching the region from Germany and the Czech Republic.
