Severe Tropical Storm “Opong” (international name: Bualoi) carved a deadly path through the Bicol and Visayas regions on Friday, forcing thousands of storm-weary families to flee homes and huddle on school floors. Western Visayas was left reeling on Friday after Severe Tropical Storm Bualoi triggered widespread flooding and landslides.

Tropical Cyclone Bualoi has triggered severe flooding in Ibajay, Aklan, Philippines on September 26, 2025. Residents of Ibajay, Aklan were heavily affected when Typhoon Opong struck, causing widespread flooding in the community. Preemptive evacuations were carried out in 32 barangays, including 14 in San Dionisio and nine in Batad.
