After nearly two days of development, the center of Typhoon Danas (Bising) confirmed landfall in Tainan City and Budai, Chiayi at 11:40 pm today July 6, becoming the first typhoon to hit Budai since 1986. The maximum wind speed near the center is currently 38 meters per second (about 137 kilometers per hour), equivalent to a force 13 wind.
Disasters have also been reported in various places. Among them, the sign of a chain supermarket in Jiali District, Tainan was blown off by strong winds, and even sparks flew out, which was quite terrifying. According to statistics from Taipower, as of 10 p.m. this evening, 53,764 households in Taiwan had experienced power outages, of which 29,695 have been repaired and 24,069 have yet to have power restored, mainly in Kaohsiung City and Tainan City.
