Typhoon Krathon made landfall Thursday in Taiwan's main port city of Kaohsiung, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the southern part of the island. Heavy rain began falling in urban areas in the afternoon, causing flooding on many roads in the Kaohsiung metropolitan area, as well as Keelung and Renwu districts.

The Kaohsiung City Water Conservancy Bureau said that today Typhoon Krathon and its surrounding circulation brought strong winds and heavy rain, causing many trees and leaves to fall, blocking drainage holes in ditches, and flooding roads.
