Super Typhoon Nando (Ragasa), the Philippines' 14th tropical cyclone of 2025, is threatening Northern and Central Luzon. The typhoon is bringing moderate to heavy rains and damaging gusty winds, with a No. 5 alert issued for areas north of the Babuyan Islands on Monday morning, September 22.

As of 8:00 a.m. (0000 GMT), maximum sustained winds of 215 kilometers per hour were reported at the center of the storm, with gusts reaching 265 km/h as it moved toward the island nation, the national weather service said. Nando is also intensifying southwest monsoon winds, or habagat, affecting Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
