Philippines underwater today! Flash floods turn highways into rivers in Cebu

Several parts of Metro Cebu experienced flooding, including Mandaue City, Cebu and Talisay City. It was reported that the Mahiga River overflowed near Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City, causing a highway to be submerged in floodwaters. There were videos and pictures shared on social media showing a person submerged in knee-deep floodwaters at UCLM in Barangay Looc in the city.

Meanwhile, Several barangays in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan province were submerged several meters deep yesterday. Rivers in the affected areas overflowed at around 4 a.m. due to rainwater flowing from deforested areas in the Sierra Madre mountains in San Jose del Monte, according to a report from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
