Thailand sinks today! River embankment breaches, causing flash floods in Lom Sak

Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province, is facing another critical flooding situation after a flood barrier along a walking street collapsed for the second time in less than a month. This caused the water from the Huai Khon Kaen Dam to rapidly flow into the city. Officials issued warnings to residents to move their belongings and prepare for emergencies.

This is the second such incident this month, following a similar water barrier collapse on September 1, 2025, causing massive flooding in the inner economic area of Lom Sak City, causing severe damage. Several shops have suffered damage, with steel doors, zinc, and broken glass swept away by the current. The Ministry of Public Health reported that flooding in Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province, has affected four subdistricts.
