The Philippines is sinking today! Floods like a tsunami, mass evacuations in Navotas

A wall collapsed along Celestino Street in Barangay San Jose, Navotas City on Wednesday morning, July 24, causing significant flooding and prompting swift rescue and evacuation efforts in the area. The collapse of the wall caused neck-deep flooding in Barangay San Jose. Several videos shared by local residents on social media show the water rising rapidly.

More than 300 residents in Navotas, were rescued from their flooded homes. Using rescue boats, trucks and even a styrofoam boat, residents were evacuated. More than 80,000 residents were affected, and forced evacuations continue, especially for those living along the riverbanks, as the water level is likely to rise further on Friday.
