Now South Africa is in chaos! Highways and cars are submerged in Durban

The Upper Highway area of Durban including Pinetown, Hillcrest and Kloof has been severely affected by flooding following heavy rains that began on Thursday afternoon. Residents are being urged to avoid non-essential travel to avoid becoming stranded on flooded roads or bridges.

Durban Metro Police posted on Facebook that the M19 Westbound under the N2 bridge was flooded and was currently impassable. It said several vehicles were already stuck in the water. Police also reported that the N2 under Wandsbeck Road before Westwood Mall was also flooded, with only one lane open to traffic.
