Heavy rain has flooded streets in Durban on Friday morning. The eThekwini Municipality said disaster teams were on high alert after a level 4 heavy rain warning was issued by the SA Weather Service (Saws) from Friday to Saturday.

The municipality said heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected with heavy downpours. The continued rain could result in flooding of roads, bridges and residential areas, poor road conditions, damage to infrastructure and the destruction of muddy homes.
